The last piece of magic in your Shop Settings – Info & Appearance is uploading your Shop Banner Image.

The banner is a little bar, 760 pixels wide by 100 pixels high. It lives on the top of your shop’s home page.  This is another one of those “the pressure’s off” things, because you can always make a another banner later, and another.  You can update it any time you want to.

If you have no idea how to even begin making a 760px by 100px image, just start with the Etsy Banner Generator at www.etsybannergenerator.com/.  Type in your shop name, type a second line as a tagline.  Select one of the styles. Click Create my banner and there it is!  As the previous Bannerator page instructs, just right-click on this image and save the banner to your desktop, then upload it to your Etsy shop.  Another generator service is found at www.shopvaluecalculator.com/free-etsy-banner-generator/.

Banner made with the Etsy Banner Generator.

I made my shop banner using Photoshop.  It’s a detail from one of my paintings with my shop name typeset on top.  In my next posting, I’ll send you to a great website where you can do the same sort of thing for free…so make one of those Bannerator banners for now, and you can do something more unique, more expressive of yourself, soon.
