Still haven’t joined an Etsy team?

Etsy is all about connections. Being part of an Etsy team is one great way to build relationships. I was feeling invisible on Etsy until I got involved with a couple friendly and busy teams.

There are thousands of teams on Etsy, all started and managed by Etsy members. You can find:

  • Teams to boost your Etsy business skills, like Etsy Success and Handmadeology
  • Teams dedicated to a particular art form, such as Mud Lovers for pottery, QuiltsQuiltsQuilts, the SteamPunkJewelry team, teams of printmakers, vintage sellers, food producers, artists inspired by nature themes…
  • Teams from your part of the world, whether you live in Austin or London or Japan
  • Teams of folks promoting their blogs, Facebook pages, Pinterest boards, or who love making and sharing Etsy treasuries
  • Teams with thousands of members and teams of one, just starting out

Etsy lists Teams at www.etsy.com/teams and offers a search function makes it easy for you to find teams that appeal to your interests.  Click on any team name to visit, check out the members, read the current discussions. If you decide you want to be a member, click “Join this team.” Some teams are open to all, others have specific requirements. You can belong to several different teams, and these will show up on your personal Etsy profile page.

Team activities begin on their discussion boards, where members post questions and answers, comments and conversation.  Projects will be planned, challenges issued, and collaboration inspired.  Get involved!  Begin by reading the discussions for a few days until you get a sense of what is going on.  Then jump in!  Add your own comments.  Ask some questions.

Make a resolution to post to your team discussions at least once a day.  You can also convo your team captains and ask about their goals for the year. What activities do they have planned? How can you can help?

I belong to the Shiny Happy People Team on Etsy. Best team ever! Full of friendly, helpful and slightly mad ladies and gents. We have a wonderful time while actually getting things done and you should see the Treasuries!

“Teams are such an essential part of the Etsy community and key to truly succeeding as a seller. The best teams manage to find the balance between good leadership and members who are truly invested in what the team focus is. The WithLove Team has been such a blessing. The leaders are stellar and the members are constantly humbling me with their heart to help complete strangers. They truly care and spend a LOT of time supporting the undiscovered shops on Etsy. That heart is what causes us to thrive!”

We are on a few great teams on Etsy. The A4 Team is awesome at promoting. Also the Era of Recycling Team has awesome treasury challenges and is great at promoting as well. My kids opened up a shop just this month featuring their handmade and handpainted fishing lures and both these teams have really helped in promoting their items.
