Get cozy with your Shop Stats!

Etsy provides an incredible support system for shop owners. One amazing feature is the Shop Stats page, where simple graphs and lists show you exactly how people are finding and looking at your shop items.

To see your Shop Stats, sign in to your Etsy account and pull down on the Your Shop link in the top menu bar until you get to Shop Stats (also in the left side menu on all Your Shop pages).

The default setting for showing your stats is “Last 7 Days,” but you can adjust for a variety of different time periods, from a specific day to All Time since you joined Etsy. The data boxes and the cool graphs (click the tabs to see different graphs) display:

  • Views – how many people have looked at your Shop homepage, and at individual Listings
  • Favorites – how many people have clicked the heart button and “favorited” your shop or different items in your shop
  • Orders and Revenue – how many things did you sell and how much money did you bring in

Interesting stuff, for sure. But the data further down on your Shop Stats page gives you even more information.

The super cool ABC’s of Statistics Poster from NausicaaDistribution is another way to get cozy with stats!

  • Traffic Sources show you the sites that sent people to your shop. Etsy.com will undoubtably be at the top of this list, but these stats will also show traffic that came from your own blog and website, from twitter or emails that promoted your items, from visitors who found you with a search on google or other search engines, and from any other blogs or websites linking to your etsy pages.
  • Traffic Sources on Etsy details how your etsy visitors found you, through searches or by clicking on a Treasury where you were included, and so on.
  • Keywords tell you exactly what words folks were searching for using different searching tools (etsy, google or others) just before they clicked and entered your shop. Click each keyword and it’ll show you the page that searcher landed on.
  • Pages Viewed and Listing Favorites are awesome lists, showing you the basic popularity of the items in your shop. And by clicking each listed item, you discover a detailed report on the activity for that particular product.

It is an awesome amount of information, and helps you learn how to promote and expand your shop for maximum Etsy success. View your Shop Stats often! Learn more at etsy.com/help/article/541. And read the Etsy blog article “Shop Stats: How Shoppers Find Your Listings.

The shop stats are a great tool provided in the Etsy platform. I like to take it a step further and compile the information from the stats page into spreadsheets and track visits back to activity as much as possible. That way I can try to replicate the results.

Great tool. Not always easy to make sense of it. For example, I sometimes get lots of shop views and no item views. Other times, it is the opposite.
I get lots of view from …etsy! Now I think that means “potential buyers” because they have an etsy account.
Thanks for the post.

Thank you for the tips. I’m a stats junkie. I’d somehow like to be able to understand how my stats compare to other shops, i.e. the success of my tags in comparison to how others tag theirs.
